A typical gas vehicle at 25 MPG and $3.60/gallon costs about 14 cents per mile. For a driver doing 15,000 miles a year, that is the difference between paying roughly $450 versus $2,160 in annual fuel costs - a savings of about $1,700 per year.

It depends on what you are currently driving. If you are in an older truck or larger SUV getting 16 to 18 MPG, moving to a Trax at 32 MPG effectively cuts your fuel bill nearly in half - around $800 to $1,000 per year at current Columbus gas prices for a typical driver. Chevrolet and Dave Gill Chevrolet offer competitive incentive programs on EV models. The federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit of up to $7,500 expired September 30, 2025. However GM regularly offers its own financing rates, cash offers, and lease incentives independent of federal credits. Home charging is the most convenient option but not the only one. Columbus has a growing public charging network including Level 2 and DC fast chargers at grocery stores, workplaces, and along major corridors.
