With more drivers taking an interest in electric vehicles, you might be finding yourself considering the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV vs 2024 Honda Prologue if you're looking for a midsize SUV with an excellent reputation. The Blazer has been a part of the Chevy for some time now. In fact, the original one dates all the way back to 1969. That, however, was a very different vehicle than the midsize SUV Chevy introduced in 2018 for the 2019 model year. Shortly after, in 2022, Chevy would make the smart move of introducing an electrified version-the Blazer EV, delivering all of the style and power people already loved about the original Blazer, with a gas-free powertrain.
On the other hand, Honda didn't base its Prologue on a previously existing traditional gas-engine model. The Prologue was born to be an electric vehicle, and no gas model exists. It's newer to the Honda family, having just hit markets in 2024. Still, in its short time out, it's created quite a buzz. So, which one of these electrified midsize SUVs is right for you? Below, we'll go over some of the main highlights of each one and how they differ to help you in your purchasing journey.Â

Performance
Let's start by discussing performance since this is often one of the first features customers ask us about. Because drivers are still getting accustomed to electric vehicles, we understand the concern surrounding their performance, and we can assure you that both the Chevy Blazer EV and the Honda Prologue offer some solid performance; however, when examined closer, it's clear that the Blazer EV has a clear edge over its Honda rival, offering exceptional range and truly impressive power.
Range
We'll start by going over the powertrains themselves. The Chevy Blazer EV immediately stands out as the superior choice. This is not only because it has more powertrain options than the Honda Prologue but also because it has more powerful options. It can be ordered with a single or dual motor powertrain with a 102 kWh battery or a dual motor 85 kW battery. Alternatively, the Honda Prologue is only available with an 85 kWh battery and a dual or single motor option. So why do these sizes matter to you as the driver? The larger the battery, the more power it can hold and the longer it can go without requiring a recharge. So, perhaps not surprisingly, the Chevy Blazer EV has been estimated to exceed a 300-mile range with the single motor 102 kW battery powertrain. On the other hand, the Honda Prologue barely reaches a 300-mile range.
Power
Now, let's talk about power. The Honda Prologue pales in comparison to the Chevy Blazer EV when it comes to power. The maximum horsepower you can expect out of the Honda Prologue is 288 hp. Meanwhile, that is the exact starting horsepower of the Blazer EV, and horsepower can go all the way up to 557 hp, depending on the configuration. If you love the feeling of a powerful engine under your hood and want your demands for acceleration to be met swiftly and vigorously, you'll simply need the Blazer EV.
The Blazer EV's Multiple Drive Modes
Should you like or even need the option to adjust dynamics to better suit your environment, you can have it in either of these models; however, you will have more options in the Chevy Blazer EV. It offers four driving modes. First, there is Tour, which is made for normal driving situations. Then there is Sport mode for times you want enhanced responsiveness. There is Snow/Ice mode for when you need better traction on wet roads. Finally, there is My Mode, which allows you to customize dynamics, such as steering responsiveness, brake feel, acceleration feel, and motor sound, to best suit your driving behaviors.
Unfortunately, the Honda Prologue only offers two drive modes: Normal and Sport. It lacks the Snow/Ice mode for times when the roads get slippery and does not give you the option to create your own mode as the Chevy Blazer EV does.
Technology
Now, let's talk about technology, an important feature for most modern drivers. We are all busy and expect to be connected to friends, family, and coworkers while on the road. So, how do these two models compare in the technology compartment?
The Blazer EV's Impressive Touchscreen
Slide into the cabin of the Chevy Blazer EV and you won't be able to ignore the massive 17.7-inch standard diagonal display screen. That's larger than some laptops. This is where you will see your navigation, playlist, weather reports, and all the other information and entertainment graphics you want on the road. The Honda Prologue only has up to an 11.3-inch infotainment screen. So you get over six more inches of display screen in the Chevy Blazer EV.
Connectivity
Getting the information you need and tackling your to-do list should be easy enough in either vehicle. Thanks to Google built-in, you'll have access to all of the features like Google Play for your music, podcasts, and audiobooks, as well as Google Assistant for getting answers to your burning questions, adding things to your to-do list, and making calls. You'll also enjoy Google Maps. Both vehicles offer smartphone compatibility, allowing you to sync your smartphone to your touchscreen. If you'd prefer to leave your USB cord at home, there is also available wireless phone charging in either vehicle.
Safety
We consider safety to be an element of technology, and we can say that both of these models have solid standard driver-assist features. Each one offers standard forward collision alerts, automatic braking, front pedestrian braking, and lane keep assistance. However, only the Chevy Blazer EV offers SuperCruise, Chevrolet's groundbreaking hands-free driving technology that can take over steering, braking, and acceleration on hundreds of thousands of miles of compatible roads. Unfortunately, the Honda Prologue does not offer such an advanced hands-free driving system.

Comfort/Convenience
Lastly, let's take a look at the comfort and convenience features of these two models. After all, if you spend a lot of time on the road, it's important that you and your passengers are comfortable.
Seating
In the seating department, you should easily get comfortable in either vehicle. The Honda Prologue offers a 10-way power adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, and the Chevy Blazer EV offers an eight-way power adjustable driver seat. Both vehicles have available heated and ventilated front seats, giving you full body warmth on cold days and a full body breeze on hot days. However, only the Chevy Blazer EV offers heated seats to rear outboard passengers.
Cargo Volume
So what about loading up your belongings in either of these SUVs? Their trunk space is nearly head-to-head. The Chevy Blazer EV offers 25.5 cu.ft. of space in the trunk with the rear seats up and 59.1 cu.ft. with the rear seats down. The Honda Prologue alternatively offers 25.2 cu.ft. of cargo space with the rear seats up and 57.7 cu.ft. of cargo space with the rear seats down. The difference between the two is marginal, but as you can see, you will get nearly one extra cubic foot of space in the Blazer EV with the rear seats down. If you regularly max out your vehicle's cargo space, that can make a big difference.
