To keep things simple, we will look at the maximum capabilities of this truck in a few key configurations, but always check the details of any specific model you are interested in.
When it comes to conventional towing, the capability of the Silverado 3500 HD depends largely on which engine you choose. The standard gas engine can handle up to 18,700 lbs of conventional towing, while the diesel engine lets you push that to 20,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity. If you are interested in doing some fifth wheel or gooseneck towing, then you get much better capabilities with the diesel engine and a DRW setup.
